Description
Rhododendron from Trent's yard.
I loved the drama of the colors, and the extravagance of rhododendron blossoms always pleases me.
The rhododendron is the official flower of the State of Washington, and believe me ... we have a bunch of 'em here! I keep thinking one day I'll post a guide showing how to tell the difference between a rhody and an azalea. Maybe one day I'll actually put one together! In the meantime ... this is absolutely a rhody.
Enjoy the drama!

A veritable blast of color. I see you thought you'd better add to the 400 plus flower shots you took several days ago. Well good. There's never enough! I've got the same problem with all those metal things with wings. LOL.
Fabulous! I look forward to your 'difference' pics, that will be good.
Great shot of the Rhody! My mom's got a bunch of them and I love the blossoms!
Beautiful capture auntie, that is a most lovely colour there, well done!
Oh Tara, you are really becoming quite a pro with your flower uploads! Each one is competing with the previous one for a place on the winner's podium! Once again an excellent image with light, color and compo spot on!!! Well done dear friend! :) Ek mis jou!
Wonderful capture!!
WOW ! How gorgeous it is and it looks very much like my garden azalea. Yes, it is written on the note LOL ! Actually I thought they were the same :)
wow!
I for one would benefit greatly from your lesson on how to tell the difference! This is just so lovely; I am always drawn to that dark pattern on the petals, reminds me of exotic cats. Great work!

Red, Red, Red! Beautiful!
A beautiful Rhododendron Tara! a very nice capture.
oh, another beautiful flower shot Tara. It's always nice to see the 'sides' you have; it's like you have a 'flower' side, because you have a way with flowers. Did you know that 'rhododendron' means "rose tree" in Greek? (I know, "boooooorrrring!") Well just to say it was named after its rose-like flowers. The flower looking at us is so nicely caught, all open & it stamens & markings right out there; and the surrounding flowers have a kind of symmetry to them.. But you also caught the flowers behind: I think that's lovely, they make fine counterpoint not only in their shape but in their darker hue. (Maybe because of shade, I don't know...) Another fine flower shot, cropped in your usual fine fashion. And btw, isn't a rhody a person who follows the Grateful Dead? (Roadie??? MAN are you slow! Ya gotta keep up here, I'm layin' out gems here!) Ok, enough henny youngman...Lovely shot.
Oh they are magnificent flowers, and the color to die for.
so lovely
