Description
I want to dedicate this work to all men and women ,to all people who put their life at risk (and sacrificed it)in a fight for our freedom.
Whatever political speculations and behind the curtain-deals historians speak and write of,is of no relevance to me at this specific moment, because these soldiers, servicemen, men and women saved europe from a dark reign.
Thank you very,very much.
We all take our freedom for granted nowadays and everybody wants more and more, hardly anyone is aware that other people lost their lifes to fight for our freedom-(and our comfort and luxury wich we possess ).
So lets use this freedom with more respect please.
In a lot of countries people get beaten to death if they only mention the word freedom, and we carry it down the drain with our behavior.
I dont claim any authenticity on the render,I just wanted to express my deepest respect to the troops,(werent they freedom-fighters in a sense??)
Anyway ,i had to use what I have in my runtime-lol,so I used here also a F4-Wildcat and a Corsair, wich is of course not correct .
The F4f Wildcat and the F4U Corsair where used in the Pacific theatre of operations.
The background was made in bryce, the aircrafts posed in daz ,exported/imported to bryce, then the backgroundscene into daz-studio and posed some more effects and aircrafts no postwork whatsoever except sig and frame.
i know i could have worked better on the propellers and a few other things, but hey i am still learning
For info on D-Day go to :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-Day
I especially focused here on Omaha Beach:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-Day#Omaha_Beach
Elements of the 1st Infantry Division and 29th Infantry Division (US) faced the veteran German 352nd Infantry Division, one of the best trained on the beaches. Allied intelligence failed to realize that the relatively low-quality 716th Infantry Division (static) had been replaced by the 352nd the previous March. Omaha was also the most heavily fortified beach, with high bluffs defended by funneled mortars, machine guns, and artillery, and the pre-landing aerial and naval bombardment of the bunkers proved to be ineffective. Difficulties in navigation caused the majority of landings to drift eastwards, missing their assigned sectors and the initial assault waves of tanks, infantry and engineers took heavy casualties. Of the 16 tanks that landed upon the shores of Omaha Beach only 2 survived the landing. The official record stated that "within 10 minutes of the ramps being lowered, [the leading] company had become inert, leaderless and almost incapable of action. Every officer and sergeant had been killed or wounded [] It had become a struggle for survival and rescue between strongpoints.
Further infantry landings were able to exploit the initial penetrations and by the end of the day two isolated footholds had been established. American casualties at Omaha on D-Day numbered around 5,000 out of 50,000 men, most in the first few hours, while the Germans suffered 1,200 killed, wounded or missing. The tenuous beachhead was expanded over the following days, and the original D-Day objectives were accomplished by D+3.

Outstanding work, Rene! Beautiful dedication to all the service people past, present and future who have given their lives to preserve our freedom. Just think, if we didn't have the freedoms we now emjoy, we would not be able to upload our images and ideas... (something for everyone to think about) Salute!
Everytime when I see the movie about D-Day, it makes freeze my heart during the landing scene - omg, all these poor guys, whole Europe has to be proud about them. René you did a great job here, Sincerely, Ute

Awesome scene and dedication Rene - and even more important words my friend. We're certainly taking a lot of things too much for granted - and think we're automatically entitled to them - these days.
