Description
More from my drive with Sig ...
We left Winthrop and headed back up into the mountains, stopping to take a few pictures of things we had seen on the way over.
On the east side of the Cascade Mountains you'll find a very different landscape than we have over here on the west side. In Eastern Washington it's dry and hot in the summer, and cold and snowy in the winter.
We have fir trees over here, and they have more pine trees over there. You can see what the pine forest looks like in the lower image. Our fir forests have a lot of undergrowth and they're quite dark.
These pictures were taken from the same place ... the building on one side of the road, the fence on the other.
Zoom will give you much larger images.

COOL SHOTS
Fine photos. I recall the remarkable difference between the two sides of the mountains. It just adds to the beauty of it all.
A spectacularly strong sort of fence...it shows that timber is cheap there! Very interesting!
Seems to have been a wonderful weather that day. Very lovely shots indeed.

Love those fences, and how the old cabins are preserved by the cold and mostly dry climate. Wonderful photos.
Liked what they used to patch the hole on the roof of the wood building close to the viewer a piece of sheet metal wish i could go fro a walk/hike there just lovely
Why do we cross the road--to get that other POV--which is just what you did here and so very well!! The fence is really cool!!
What a great duo, I love how you pieced these together, I'd love to spend a night in that cabin, awake to the smells and sounds that are all around the wonderful area.
It is amazing how the land changes from one side of the mountains to the other! Great shots!
