Description
The Kilauea Caldera** is an amazing place. We walked the rim of it to the visitor center, at the very edge. There are vents along the rim as well. The big vent is in a smaller crater in the center. Pretty incredible walking along something that really could blow at any time. We then drove the Chain of Craters, and down to the ocean. More on that later.

Every now and then, it will cough up some missiles into the air. It did send bombs the size of a washing machine. There is lava movement in that smoking vent...sometimes winking at nights with red. That pit crater where the vent is located is the home of Pele called Halemaumau. I like the way you framed the smoking vent...with the beautiful Lehua flower. Excellent job of this collage.
