Thought of just titling this as, YIKES!
These birds are too funny. In case you may be wondering how many hours a day I am peering out my kitchen window with my camera at the ready...I look six or seven times a day for maybe five or six minutes at a time. Each time I am able to get 20-25 pictures...only a few of which are keepers.
I got this sequence thinking that I'd just get the cardinal flying off...instead the cardinal and I were both surprised by the sneak attack of the woodpecker. LOL
ZOOM for best results.
Thanks for stopping by,
Bill:)

Another sneak strafing run for sure! Woodpeckers are mean little mothers. Nice sequence of avians in action, Bill.
That first picture....... IT'S THE ONE!!!! Perfect Red colour! Awesome. well done. And. A BRILLIANT set to follow. I see what you meant by Multi Shot! yep! Has to be..... Great one. Rob.
Very nice capture. Excellent colors...
EXCELLENT COLLAGE
unfortunately, I couldn't possibly comment on all I've missed (though I'd love to!), but this one is representative of some of your "group shots," it's inventive, really funny, and showing your patience to get all this action in a few seconds time. You caught the cardinal turning around to see who's coming, you got a terrific shot of him taking off as the woodpecker moved in, and the return shot is a riot because ye old woodpecker lost his balance and is falling off the ledge. ('Just desserts for birds'...sounds like a Monty Python sketch...) Great montage, gets all the key moments, and I wonder if the cardinal said, after you stopped, "if you'd ASKED, I might've put out a chair..." Wonderful.
