Description
Warwick Castle is situated on a sandstone bluff at a bend of the River Avon. The river, which runs below the castle on the east side, has eroded the rock the castle stands on, forming a cliff which made it a natural defence..
The Castle is over a 1000 years old and was built in 1068 and I think one of the finest in the British Isles..

Must go there.... A superb photo.
I have never visited this place Danny, it does however play a large role in my past. My youngest son David was on a school trip to this castle in 1981, my eldest son Andrew was on work experience, and I was on my way back from Newcastle on Tyne. We all arrived home to an empty house, my divorce was finalised two years later. Lol. I really must make time to visit it sometime. You know when I look at buldings like this and compare them to modern day architecture, I have to agree with Prince Charles and his views "Old is best". Modern buildings use concrete and glass cannot compare with quarried dressed stone, they may be cheaper but don't look as nice. Excellent pov, I guess they had a natural defence with the river acting as the moat, and a supply of fresh fish. Superb image. Bravo!!!!!
