Description
Female Downy Woodpecker.
This small woodpecker hasn't visited the bird feeder but makes trips to the tree immediately next to my back deck and feeder.
This is the second type of woodpecker I've been able to capture but her visits are extremely short...no time yet for follow-on shots. The other type of woodpecker being the Red-bellied Woodpecker seen in my present avatar 5/14/2009.
