Description
My deck...THIS IS MY DECK, this American Blue Jay seems to say by his body language.
Blue Jays often run off other birds from feeders but my yard birds appear to get along without a lot of rivalry. That probably changes during cold winter weather.
Hope you all are not tiring of my birds...the photographic pickings are so good right now I hate to miss getting all I can get.
Thanks for stopping by,
Bill:)

Awesome capture of such a beautiful bird, a favorite in my back yard!!!
Much more colourful your birds are than the ones I see in the garden. Good photo. Plus you 300th upload! Great choice!
Nice close up capture, good shooting bill.
So adorable!!!!!!!!
excellent capture!
No I am not tiring of the bird photos... just envious. Great Shot!
Great shot!
Wonderful! I shall not tire of your birds, Bill!
Again a superb photoshot.
In my experience, a mockingbird will chase off jays in a heartbeat, About the same size, different body shape and a one-way attitude. Your bluejay is handsome, Bill.
Go on, Bill, I love those neighbors of yours! a new fantastic capture!
Wonderful capture!!
Wonderful shot of this guy. They sure are bossy little birds as I've noticed in the past.
Hey, big man on campus! This American Blue Jay definitely has an attitude problem and should seek help in control management. Superlative backlighting, colors, focus and textures in this fine foto, Bill! And, I never get tired of birds, or for that matter, anything that can take flight.
Lovely shot Bill!! Seems to me you need to feed him more, kind of skinny!! LOL .
I love birds and feed ours here all winter though we don't have many as nicely coloured as you do. This is a beautiful capture and I can't get too many of them.
jays are very aggressive when they have nests and will hit people in the head here.beautiful capture
Great image! There is definitely a pecking order here. That big neck says he's fairly high up in ranking. Our red-shafted flickers show up and these guys become very scarce in the game of chicken. The jays and the purple grackles both run in gangs, and which group wins depends on their numbers. Rabbits hold their own against jays, if they're there first. A crow trumps all of them. I'm starting the jays also watch squirrels to find food. Chase the squirrels and the jays thin out, too. We don't get many of the cute woodpeckers and they're shy, and never anyone with red feathers, although a few western tanagers pass through. Love your sunny perch.
Congratulations on your 300th, my dear! I look forward to the next 300. :) Such pretty colors on this little jay. Nicely done!
Lovely shot!!!! 5+
Great shot. I'm working on my Jays to get them to pose. They are still a little skiddish. Perhaps by the end of summer they will be bold enough to let me get a shot like this.
Good grief Bill!!! 300 and WHAT a shot... A stunner! Just outstanding. And no! I'm certainly not getting tired of bird shots! Rob.
This set of bird shots are all brilliantly taken, very impressive!
Fantastic!!!! I love this series!
SWEET SHOT
He really is a lovely bird, I love seeing your bird pics as I never see these here.
I wish we had some out here in this neck of the woods! Clive
Good shot Bill most Jays are very much like Magpies and this family of birds tend to be the Boss!!
what a colorful bird, Bill, those feeding places are just great to look at and take shots... at my parents place the woodpecker is the king of the place..chasing all the others away and loudly anouncing his presence...smile
Beautiful colours and wonderful image, excellent captured, dear Bill !!! 5*
