Lovely... A very intense image, but at the same time relaxed. I like the passage you quoted and I can remember reading the novel while sitting in the garden in summer, a while a go. Those days seem idyllic, but there are things going on today that are better... I like the way you vary your work and so obviously enjoy what you do. Kaleidescopic! Definately captures that 20's jazz feel. At first glance at the thumbnail I thought that was a drum-set in the middle. Cool colors.

so nice because while the scene takes place in the garden, your vision is almost against a universal sky of stained glass, as if the whole world in Gatsby's universe was aglow in these 20s and 30s designs. The 2 dancer-singers blend perfectly into the whole, and your border—I mean your outermost border—continues the wonderful art deco and other period decoration perfectly. A fine piece of design, and a fine evocation of the time. You even get a kind of grainy texture on the open blues. A fav for this and the last, I really liked them both.
