Description
"'I want to be a society vampire, you see,' she announced coolly, and went on to inform him that bobbed hair was the necessary prelude."
"Bernice Bobs Her Hair"
--F. Scott Fitzgerald
Loosely inspired by one of my favorite short stories. This would be long after her scandalous haircut.
Clara Bow for V3 by Cybrea (free section at Renderosity). Such a fun character!
The deco inspired background is from a fractal I created in Artmatic Pro.
Various tweaks in Filter Forge and the Gimp, and
Rendered in Daz.
The 1920s gown is by Poserworld
Hello, all. I'm still here. My ebots are off for the moment. I've finally returned to dancing after my surgery, but have little energy for much else right now. Hopefully that will improve soon. Sorry I'm so far behind on the galleries. I will visit your work again soon. Thanks for commenting, or looking, for past favorites, and for your general friendship and support! It is much appreciated. I thought I'd better render something before I forgot how.

Wonderful image Cathy! Perfect society pose and outfit!
Good to hear your better now.....wonderful work my friend, and welcome back.
Wow! This is amazing and in my humble opinion, leaps and bounds ahead of your general work. Why? Because I think you have integrated for the first time, all the elements you love and try to include. The posing, the graphics, the stylish way of presentation that is like 'dancing'. A very beautiful piece of work with perfect composition and colour. The glow of the skin and the graphics themselves take care of all the lighting questions leaving no room for doubt.... this is a stunner! "A great social success is a pretty girl who plays her cards as carefully as if she were plain." F. Scott Fitzgerald
Very nice pose and wonderful colorful background. Beautiful work :)

Beautiful work. Love your pose work and the background.
Beautiful composed image, great job on it!
Very beautiful work.
This gorgeous composition and your quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald reminds me of my reading of 'The Great Gatsby'. This is a superb job you've produced here, very atmospheric and convincing.
A story I haven't read. But that doesn't prevent me from enjoying this fantastic render. It fits the quote from Fitzgerald, so beautifully. You're posing is fantastic, she looks like a china doll her skin is so perfect. I love the background you've created
Welcome back, wonderful to hear your better now,...beautiful work..bravo!!!:)
What a fantastic work of art! Gorgeous in every way... I think it very unlikely that you'll forget how to render :o) I'm delighted to hear that you're dancing again (you just answered my sitemail question).
Beautiful image, very stylish! Great work!
welcome back cathy, glad to read your all went fine with your surgery! and what i like about your idea here is that her pose as well as the elements you used for the background play so well together. i dont know about germany, i'm only a guest here, but for switzerland: my father told me a lot about the scandalous things in this times, i never stopped wondering how different the world was, esp. in the little things, just a hundret years ago!
bright and muted at the same time...nicely done
What a fantastic quote. I was not familiar with that story but now I have to look it up. I think your deco background really works, it captures that glitzy, frenzied 20s mood typical of Fitzegerald's work. I'm very happy to hear you are dancing again, by the way.
Love the Deco fractal and the way you've integrated it with the character and story quote. I know some social vampires...
one of your wonderful period pieces, and pieces that glow inside enclosed spaces, like a beautiful inner chamber; your design sense always comes out in these. The light is interior and intimate, but there's a sense of performance too (not surprising considering your background), and the woman is placed and gestured just right for your vision. I love these stained-glass like interiors you create; and the image captures FSF very well. These would make fine illustrations for the literary books you base them on.
