Description
The Hoover Dam Bypass Project (which includes the New Colorado Bridge) is a complex project made up of four miles of roadway (two lanes in each direction), eight bridges, wildlife crossings, a 2,000 foot-long bridge over the Colorado River and various pedestrian and visitor improvements. Because of the magnitude of this project, it will be constructed in four distinct phases: the Arizona Approach, the Nevada Approach, the Colorado River Bridge, and final roadway surfacing. Construction of the Arizona approach has begun followed by the Nevada Approach

That is awesome they are fixing it up. The one thing that Obama did that I like is that any job over 25 mil has to have Union workers on them. We are the only Union portable toilet company around. Fantastic shot Richard

Great shot and info Richard! My grandfather worked on the Hoover Dam (originally named Boulder Dam) and stayed in Boulder City that was built for the workers. I have letters that he wrote to my gran while he stayed there and she was still in Washington state. I am sure he would be very intrigued at this new project:-)

Big project, great view; and a scary thought when I looked close & realized the bridge height: Can you imagine being in the middle just when a strong Earthquake hit? Ohhh!
