Description

The famous line being, "One of you will betray me." I am very behind in uploads & comments due to my busy week/month/life but I want to include some of these from the passion play before I forget about them. I hope to catch up with my uploads...comments - I will have to see if I have time soon. My Easter was glorious and I hope yours was too, if you recognize such a season. I spent so much time with friends and family. It is so enlightening when you grow within yourself and can step back to witness how friends and family treat each other in various situations. Here - Jesus is completely aware that one of his very close friends WILL indeed betray him. This had to be and many were hurt because of it. Even now people we love will hurt us as we may have hurt them with or without motive. This is a true sign of growth and love, especially if forgiveness comes after. At least we are learning... Love is what it is all about. Isn't that what friends are for? Isn't that why we are here? Very deep I know, and I apologize if this makes you uncomfortable. But, so much has happened to me within the last few months (and the year) which I believe sums up many years or growth. I hope you enjoy my photos from Passion Play since I consider it a life's journey to watch these youngsters grow in awareness of the love we have for one another. God Bless. Jodie

A poignant capture, but I'm really not into this kind of stuff.

beautiful thoughts, Jodie, and it's wonderful that your students learn from this, beyond the sheer excitement & joy of doing productions to begin with. As with your other theater shots, you capture the actors/actresses with a clarity & light that always strikes me, because it's so clear & clean. And, central to the story, you have jesus in front of a dark backdrop while the two others are in front of a different backdrop: There's a split between them. Yet he's reaching across the chasm. Sensitively done. And there's a gentle light around Christ's face (on his hair) and the shadows are delicate as well. Finally, I like the choice to leave-in some of the seats; because the different colors and the linear 'music' reminds us that this is truly theater. A sensitive shot, and I appreciate all you wrote. I hope that the spirit of reaching across the abyss comes to you in your life too; you fully deserve it. Happy Easter to you and your family!
