Description

Hello friends - This image is one of several I took while running lights during the Passion Play. This was not manipulated at all in photoshop except to crop it. I thought the actor's expression summed up the line "the hour is upon us" as he pleads with the disciples to understand his plight. I have not been around much. One weekend in Florida kept me from Rosity (sunny Deerfield beach, what torture! LOL). Soon, I will leave again to spend 4 days exploring, hiking and chaperoning 5th graders in the great outdoors in northern Minnesota. They just reported 28 inches of snow and an ice storm. From one extreme to the other - what a deal! I hope to have time to sit and browse here, soon. In the meantime feel free to view, comment and enjoy a peaceful week. Great image you have captured here I agree with the light on this image it really is good And I would much perfer the sunny beaches...........to the 28 inches of snow Good Lord all winter long here where I live we only got 3 inches of snow...last week no less but lots of ice Hope you have a good time and roast some marshmallows for me Hugs Susan~

The light makes itself, Jodie, it seems to come from inside the character and not from the stage, and the flow of his gown & play of shadows makes him a vision as much as a person (which I'm sure he, the actor, would want). I think it's a delicate & beautiful shot, you got his face with a play of shadows fitting for his speech, and the right moment with his hands (photographing living actors is always hard, which I learned from a photographer who did it years back), and your background is soft enough to not interfere but still give a quiet glow behind him. I think this is beautiful, and it would be even more wonderful large & in a resolution not supported by most websites. Touching work.
