Description
This is an old school class at St Fagans which dates back to Edwardian times with some implements of punishment such as the cane, and I assume to be a paddle and ? the finger clamps to prevent children from writing with the left hand!
Frowned on at those times as being the sign of evil or criminal tendancies!! From which we get such phrases as Cack Handed..

With all your beauty in landscapes, & your closeups of animals, plants, etc, you still amaze me with your interiors. The interplay of dark & light, the deep introspective greens, the wonderful interplay of the different types of wood & objects on the desks—all these (and more) add up to an introspective painting of an interior. I realize you've captured items of discipline, and there's something antiquated and inhuman about them; but your visual music transcends all that,l and shows that when school's out, there's a kind of 'aura' that stays behind, and the aura, here, is doused in memory and beauty. Beautiful work once more...
