Hmm, done that a couple of times of late - in my head at least. Somehow I doubt the damage is as serious as this! Very well done, Clive
By the look of some of those wires it would appear that the problem was that the fuse didn't blow. Whoops. :-)

Wow! that's an old fuse board, the kind we used to put fusewirw in, most are MCB's now!
I'd say that blown part was long before the burned part, excellent find and capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
