Description
Special thanks to Jackie (aka Propschick) for her way cool Curlers hair (which totally inspired me to do this picture and the concept for it) and to Marleen (aka Erynn) for this unique face morph for her latest character Akuma.
Normally, I do 'happy' people but for this one I wanted to create a 'realistic' scene that focused more on the emotional state of the character as well as lighting, skin tones, etc.
My goal was to show this character expressing a variety of emotions - trepidation, worry and anxiety while doing a 'smile for the camera' look. It's the look you see when someone smiles but they really aren't smiling because their stomach is full of butterflies. She's getting ready for a beauty pageant and she knows she must be perfect. Her hair must be curled just right and her makeup must be right. But the pressure is intense.
I used Syltermermaid's Chelina for the character skin and wonderful attire. The background comes from Mapps and RichardPhotos' sexy shower set. I've always wanted to use it for another picture and this seemed like the ideal opportunity.

Thanks sooo much for your favs and comments on my last picture. I've been 'out of the loop' for a couple days. I fell asleep in front of the TV two evenings in a row and totally missed out on doing any artwork and comments (which I can only do after work). I did some catch up tonight but will have to do more tomorrow! So sorry about that.
Have a great Friday!

Excellent render. So many of us can identify with this scene.
really nice work!
Lori you did such a fabulous job creating this realistic scene. The setting here is perfect and you captured that mood also. It really looks like she's feeling all those emotions as she waits.
cool hair indeed lori, love the props also. sorry i'm having trouble rendering a image with your bg, i'll have to recontruct it cause it says i don't have enough memory. steve
The pose is so expressive--and I love all the shower junk on the shelf behind her and the curlers in her hair..you do realistic beautifully!
this is a great, realistic scene. she does look nervous all crouched over like that. I like all the stuff on the counter behind her and her curlers are awesome!
Cool image. Great fun.
Very sharp looking character and render. Nice work on the pose, too. Very detailed.
WOW cool work I think all she is missing is a smoke lol..This is just great Hun. Set up is excellent too.
Wonderful pic! Really nicely done!
She really does look spooked. Reminds me of the first few times I went of stage... the feeling that you are gonna be sick is really intense and I can feel the knot in her tummy right now. Great job on capturing that moment.
