Description
I was driving along highway 15 between Leupp on the Navajo Reservation and Winona, on Interstate 40.
This picture was taken just west of the reservation boundary. What caught my eye was not the old pickup but the '58,'59', or '60 Ford 'Thunderbird' in the background. It brought back memories of when I first arrived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in summer 1960. I used to stand at the dealerships lots and check out this car and dream about owning one. Well I never did, but this model Thunderbird is one of my all-time favorite American cars.
In the distance is the Painted Desert.
This picture was taken on 22 February 2009.

Great scene. I'd love either one if I was healthy enough to work on them. One of the many things I miss doing. I have worked on worse projects.

Awesome cars very beautiful capture!!
never had the time or money for rebuilding an antique vehicle. now I have the time but even less money. I still remember how to work on old one's like this pickup.when I was very young it was a necessity to be my own mechanic/body man. excellent find Sig
love this americana... thanks!
I must admit, my eye took to the TB as well! ;)
great shot !
Wonderful desolation.
Cool Car!
a very fine spacious shot of the dignity of a decaying old truck...and the large & open vista of the land around it. These old vehicles, sitting on the land as they do, have a certain presence; and they never seem to give up the 'ghost', even though they decay with each day. A very peaceful, slightly desolate, and quietly lit vista, and a nice capture of the truck, car, bent fence and the small home or shed a ways back. Catches the quiet essence of this area very well...
Purchase I !! How much do you want to have?? Class picture. Greet from Berlin JulySun
