Description

Hello Here is Katrine the Crow... in rainy weather. One of the 2 crows who use to come every morning and get a little cheese and bread from us. They haveent been here the last week and I dont know why... Maybe one of them is dead and the other is trying to find a new mate. Dont know. It is a little sad, as we have had them for 4-5 years. Thanks for your kind comments to yesterdays post and special thanks to those who added it to favs. Have a great day. Same weather as yesterday... calm and grey.

Our crows here are all black, and I've never seen one like this before! I hope they show up. Perhaps they've gone to Copenhagen for a little vacation, and they'll be back soon with souvenirs. (I'll hold out hope with you.)

As soon as I saw this crow I thought how sad it looked. Then I read your comment. Oh! Poor thing. There's something so sad about one without their mate. I've never seen a crow with white before. All of ours are black with very long tail feathers. This little sweetie makes me want to bundle it in a blanket and comfort it. This is a terrific photo, Helle, with wonderful clarity and detail.

I'm like a few others here and I've never seen a two-tone crow. The all-over inky black crow is the only kind I've seen. Beautiful bird!

He does look a little bedraggled but at least he has come and that is a plus. I do hope he finds his mate and they can both get stuck into that cheese again.

Funny how attached we get to wildlife critters when they make our yards part of their daily existence. I've never seen this type of crow before so I had to look it up. Acording to Wikipedia it is a "hooded crow" (Corvus cornix) Wonderful shot of the species I might add. : )

really fine detail, and a very straight-on shot almost as if it posed for you. (Maybe it figured, after being gone several days, it should get its picture taken...) You even captured the moisture on its feathers. Really fine detail Helle. God, in Chicago our crows are solid black: I mean jet black. I've never seen any with coloration...The foreground grass is luminous; and your background—de-focussed—makes a painterly background for the whole. A strong capture of a proud bird. Its pride really comes across here.
