Description
This old stone barn, obviously out of service for years, stands on a farm up in a remote northeast corner of Kansas. Barns like this have been replaced by modern buildings that aren't as attractive but are much larger and far more functional for the modern farmer.

Excellent Photo and wonderful trip down memory lane when times were simpler. I would venture to say that long after the replacement barns are gone this one will still be there.
Strange to me how many old abandoned barns there are in the US. Don't seem to get them like that in the UK. Good photo. I wonder if it's haunted?

the barn is a fine old structure and has a strong dignity, especially in its mix of stone and wood. And the way these things are boarded up gives them an extra visual power. You caught a good swath of its surface & old power, and your capture of the ground (in front) gives it a strong midwestern feel, very prairie-ish; and the trees surrounding it envelop it nicely. Very nice capture.
