Description
This magnificent seabird is common in and around the whole of the North Altantic however 68% of the world population breeds around the coasts of Great Britain, with the largest colonies on the Bass Rock (whence the species' Latin name Morus Bassanus is derived.)
It has long been an ambition of mine to capture them diving into the Atlantic capturing fish, the last planned trip was a washout due to terrible winds that left the boat and myself on the shore-line :-(

super!
I wish I could get images this sharp! Fantastic work Danny!
What a fantastic capture of a beautiful bird. (And deep apolgies, because being a Monty Python afficionado, I just can't withhold my spontaneous comment of "wets its nest" whenever I hear the word gannet. It's a bit like Tourrette's syndrome...Sorry to all of you who probably haven't a clue where it comes from, but it had to be said!)
What a beautiful bird and a glorious pose! That beautiful pale eye and pale blue eye ring! And such lovely whites, always soft, never blown out!
