Description

Continuing excerpts from the diary of Toren Delgado, recording the events of what is now commonly referred to as "The Shortest War": "There really is something strangely captivating, sometimes even beautiful, in the violent destruction that humans seem so preoccupied with causing. We were participating in our own form of this macabre art when we decided to resist these raiders who claimed that our colony would be theirs, instead. We watched our own version of the Trojan Horse approach, held our breath when they launched their missiles. We actually started to cheer when they struck two of our attackers, but the cheers died as suddenly as they started when we watched our friends die in a spectacular blast. Ultimately their ship was struck by 3, perhaps 4 missiles. We thought we understood it, but this was different: in war people don't just die. Our friends, families, lovers, and loves we'll never have a chance to know flare in the heat that rivals hell itself. Why do we keep doing this to ourselves?" ------------- Almost done with this series, I think. The ships were built and rendered in Bryce. The background starscape and nebula, the compositing, Effects, and all other post work was done in Photoshop CS. Thanks for taking a look. Comments, ideas, suggestions, and critiques are welcome. (Especially critiques, I need to know what I need to do better, I'm feeling kind of in a rut, lately)

It amazes me that I can sit here, and find some semblance of beauty..within a violence eruption such as this one. And still, I do, without doubt. A rut? Seriously? Well, your last 3 posts surely don't elude to that. But, I get it. My muse isn't exactly perched happily on my shoulder these days either. I wonder though, if the introspective thought that undoubtedly comes with the narrative accompanying these images...isn't the weight you're sensing. But, alas, only you can be the judge of that, dear friend. Either way, I hope you feel rutless soon enough. :)
