Description
This is a tribute to the Arizona Cardinals who today, 18 January 2009, won the NFC Championship and will play in their first Super Bowl game. This image was taken on the spur of the moment and lacks quality. It shows Kurt Warner, the Cardinals quarterback, overcome with emotion when asked about his wife's reaction the Cardinals win.
The Cardinals moved to Phoenix in 1988 and prior to this championship win had only one winning season since moving here. This is the first championship for the Cardinals since 1947 and their first appearance at the Super Bowl.
It is surprising how many fans they have all of a sudden. I guess everybody loves a winner, but this win is good for the Phoenix community and the Glendale merchants.

Spur of the moment is what makes great shots! Good one and go Cards!
wow! excellent photo sig..u did great shot..
Good capture for us all to see. I have tried taking pics of images on a TV screen without much luck sharpness-wise either. Looks like you were probably looking at a high quality "HD" broadcast...I wonder if there is anything we can do to improve sharpness???
great foto, I had a foto of a tv screen removed once because it was seen as copyright invringment, I hope it doesnt happen to you.
Great shot and tribute, but the only team I really care about is Houston Dynamo! :D
Thanks for all the comments. I never even thought about the legalty of posting a picture taken of a TV picture, just as I never thought of the possible legal ramifications when taking a picture in a museum. The screen was a 40-inch Sony 1082 and the broadcast was in HD. But I was trying to avoid the flash reflection (not successfully). My problem was the little Canon A520. The picture always has a slight delay after I push the shutter release and the image is always something from what I intended. It is really annoying when going to car races. But this is the cammera I will take with me on my upcoming short vacation and I don' anticipate any really fast action shots. I really liked Kurt Warner's humble responses to the questions and I wish the Cardinals well.
Kurt Warner is an Iowa Boy! So from all us in Iowa are cheering for the Cards. Detrick Ward is the Cardinals' assistance offensive coach...also from Iowa. Next Superbowl Champs. We're rooting for em' Good pic.
Now I know why they are called red cardinals :-) Nice tribute !
Excellent capture my friend.
Believe it or not, the Superbowl is broadcast LIVE here in the UK every year! I have NO idea how its played but, I enjoy watching it I have to say. Well done to the Cardinals!!! Got to wonder, and often have, if you took the padding off the players, how long they would last againsts the British Lions Rugby Team! Lol. Go Cardinal's! Rob.
Congratulations, Sig! This is filled with your excitement. It's amazing how something like this brings people together. Happy tailgating!
The best to your team~~
