Description
This is for my friend Larry (NetWorthy) who does wonderful work in Daz. Larry has a gift for creating images and magnificent stories to go with them. My favorite story Larry created is (Misty The Baby Dragon) In it he shows how he can touch your heart through his work. Most important for me is Larry has always been a real friend to my family and always checking on my sister. He shared with me this fantastic memory of when he was a boy living near Springfield Illinois. They lived near old abandoned mines and the rubble from them had built up over the years making huge hills seventy feet high. When it snowed the hills provided Larry and his friends a great place to go sledding, even if the hills were a bit rough because of all the rocks. This story is about one day when they had a fantastic new adventure and I hope you enjoy it.
Down Hill Racers: It was a really cold day and Larry and his brother Rick headed to the hills to meet their friends and go sledding. While the kids were playing they found a hood from a old car half buried in the snow. The kids dug it out and thought it would be great to use it as a sled. Larry and nearly 14 kids worked so hard to drag it up the hill. Once at the top all the kids climbed on board and a older boy gave them a shove to get them started. Down the bumpy hill they soared, going faster and faster. Soon Larry saw Mick fall off and then his friend Butch too. Evey time they hit a bump another kid would go flying off of their sled. By the time they got to the bottom only Larry, Mike, Emma, Glory and her puppy were left. They were still going fast as their sled plowed into a group of small trees finally ending their journey. Larry and his friends laughed so hard and they rode down the hill two more times that day. Hope it brought smiles.
Dave

Wonderful to view your art and talents my friend
Most excellent image and dedi Dave. Geeze.. been about 25 years since I've played in the snow. As a kid I loved it.. even with the frozen hands and feet and ears. Instead of making a snowman, my Brother and I sculpted snow into animals. A snow horse we sculpted got it's photo taken and appeared in the newspaper. Anyway, it's been in the mid 80's here in SoCal lately.. and I've been using our air conditioner a bit. (hehehe) Sorry running late but very busy after Xmas Vacation and still catching up on delayed work. Bravo and best wishes from Dave :^)
Fun memories except here in Oz we go to a nearby island (Moreton) with a sheet of cardboard and slide down the sand dunes that are about the same height. Excellent scene...
Wonderful image Dave! The expression on the kids faces reminds me of my grand girls. They were just snow tubing this past weekend and they had a blast, well the oldest and their Mom had a blast, the little one is still a bit too young to do the bigger hilss but she sure loved being pulled on the sled! I really enjoy your images and I do so enjoy the stories that go with them! Hugz ~Trac
Good composition!
So sorry I missed this earlier! These are getting better and better all the time. ;-)
Oh my God this brings back (painful) memories! (one in particular involving me, a crazy carpet, a snow bank, and a thicket of poplar trees...) Y'know all those times yer Grammy told you not to pull a face cause it'd stay like that? Well...it took me years to work the "AAAAAAAAAAAHH!" out of my face.
Too funny-What a great story and image
COMO SIEMPRE UN TRABAJO MARAVILLOSO DE UNO DE LOS MAS GRANDES ARTISTAS QUE CONOZCO!!! BRAVO DAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Each time you post something, I think "this is Dave's best post" .. and then the next one comes along! So Dave, this is your best post!! How on earth you get the expressions on the kids faces so perfect is beyond me! Your posing is perfection, and I love the green snow, LOL, the perfect touch of whimsy! Such wonderful and fun memories this brings back!
