Princess Amanla Minnin sulked on the hill top. "Why couldn't I have been born in a kingdom that at least has a good night club"? Hows that?

She looked across the verdant valley to the shining castle, pangs of yearning in her heart. But she knew she could never return there, could never claim her birthright. To protect her loved ones, to insure peace in the kingdom, no one must ever know she still lived. With regret stinging her eyes, one last look, then she melted back into the forest... (Well, how'd I do?)

Did he get my secret note and will he be able to come, she thought, standing on the hill above the little village huddling at the feet of the dark castle. So little time they had have before her mother was taken away, accused to be a sorceress and they would certainly come for her too, as she had tought her the ancient ways. He had promised to leave with her to search for help.... There you have another story...lol... and NetWorthy I like yours too...smile fine render

Very beautiful fantasy scene, perspective and setting my friend! How about this: "After reaching the crest of the hill, she was finally able to see her home village of LacombiƩre again, right below her. Bright and peaceful in the afternoon haze, but the fields, orchards and streets were deserted. And the castle, which had already been stuff of legends when she was a child, still towering above, like a menace ready to pounce at the slightest sign of movement. Tonight, she was going to find out what happened in those walls, what had happened there to her parents, more than 15 years ago..."

How tranquil it looked in the afternoon sun; the Valley of the Bowl of Ripe Sunshine as it used to be called by the People Of The Promise. Yet how deceptive that apparent tranquillity was! Shadow warriors struggled to flicker in and out of reality, pushing their malignant invasion ever further. It was a risk even to stand here. Any closer and she would be bound by her enemies into a world of dark dreams from which she had only just escaped. Looking at the castle for a moment longer, Arielle could remember so clearly the times when her father, ruling the valley from the heights of the castle had walked with her across the battlements and directed her eyes to the very spot where she now stood. 'There lies the road to the sea', he'd often told her. Remembering his kindly voice, the young woman could almost forget that her parents were dead; that her younger sister had stolen her birthright and that the whole valley was in the grip of silent but merciless invaders. Yet she must never forget! And how as she ever to reclaim the castle and save her sister whilst such incomprehensible forces controlled Erella and her twisted consort? With a sigh that was almost a sob she turned back to the road. Only the sea lay ahead and a long lonely exile.

For the third time he had reached the boundry that marked where the enchantment started. How peaceful it all looked . The village where all the people he loved dwelt. The castle on the hill where the maiden lay who kept drawing him back. He knew that unless he could find a way to break the spell that bound him he would never be able to return to this place. To reclaim all that he had lost in that one moment of thoughtless stupidity. He turned away and.....

It was very interesting to read the alternative stories. No doubt, a good text is an excellent companion to an image, it fires up one's imagination. Great composition, as usual, but the render has a bit of grain, especially noticeable in the full size view. Maybe it's due to fog? If so, this could be reduced by increasing the quality slider in the fog and haze tab.
