Description
The Boeing B-29 Superfortress 'Fifi' taking off. 'Fifi' is the only flying B-29 in the world. She is maintained by the CAF (Commemorative Air Force). In the foreground is a Vultee BT-13 'Valiant' painted to look like a Japanese Kate Torpedo Bomber used for their show 'Tora Tora Tora'.
This picture was taken at Midland, Texas in September 1997 and later scanned.
Thank you for viewing and for the many funny and interesting comments to my last upload,

lovely capture
Marvelous capture Sig, I would love to go take shots of old aircraft in flight!
very nice shot indeed,i was always fascinated by aircraft, the biggest moment on this subject was when the C5A_galaxys landed in Luxembourg for a manoeuvre with nato-troops. well done amigo.favorito!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good shot of Fifi's posterior...tail gunner position and all. That tail gun position looks like that on the first models of the B-52...must have been A Models. Then it went away as unneeded. Just did a quick catch-up read on a CAF site...FiFi is now at Midland, TX undergoing "reengining" to bring her back to flying condition once again. Glad you posted this...I didn't know about Fifi. Bill
Awesome capture my friend.
Impressionnants appareils, jolie capture!

Nice capture...
Looks great Sig!
terrific
Splendid composition and colors my friend
Interesting shot! :)
Really nice shot Sig maybe not as colorful as your last but thank you for both of them. I beleive the B-29 is my favorite of all times! Great set up with 2 planes on the ground and the Fortress in the air makes it look like it is part of a movie.
fantatic short of the 3 intersecting like that

Great group shot! All very interesting and the sense of motion.
Wish I got an airshow shot like this one of "FIFI" taking off with foreground Tora bombers. I have two of "FIFI" flyin' by in my gallery, Sig.
Fascinating. I admire the groups that go to all the effort of keeping these bits of history alive.
I don't believe they make planes like these any more. A big part of history. Nice shot. Aloha
Oh my COOL SHOT
I've seen Fifi at the Wings Over Houston Air Show in Houston in the 80's... What an amazing feeling to see such history!
wow! this is cool sig awesome capture.
Cool shot.
Cool shot! I have heard of the CAF now and then but never seen one of their shows.
stunning shot !!
Well done! Cool shot!
Stunning shot! Picture says it all. Iconic plane. Infamous and famous at the time! the UK used these after WW2 and called them Washington's! As you do.... There is one at Duxford, in the American Air Museum. It flew in. Great picture, my friend. Many thanks! Rob.
Cool!! Splendid capture my friend!!
This is a classic photo. Timing is everything. Excellent shot on the take off
