Description

This was taken in October but I've only now had time to share. We traveled to Harmony, MN to explore Niagara Cave. I was pleased to see the photos looked quite a bit as I remember the inside of the cave appearing. (I am not good with heights so distracted myself by planning views through the lens!) I loved how chiseled and beautiful the rock looked and the color here is very similar. The only tweaking was to lighten the dark recesses with the highlight option in PS. No flash on this - only existing light. I have others that did require flash and I will prep those soon. Thanks for looking and any comments you wish to leave. Happy 2009 to all! You emphasized the natural warm light very well, working in these confines are not easy. I would love to see these places.

You are a brave girl! I don't think I would feel comfortable in there. Good to be able to enjoy the view without going in. Wonderful light in this shot!!

You did wonders with the existing light in this one, Jodie! Amazing how the edges separating dark and light look like cut paper in this remarkable shot.

This has such a fabulous feel to it. Those rock walls have such grace and the lighting hits the surface perfectly. Seeing the backs of heads admiring it, only mirrors what I'm doing right now.

Surprised that such strong colors of the desert can be found below the ground there as well. Very nice capture.

the deep light & furrows of the cave grab us immediately, and at first I didn't even know those were people! (Even in full-view.) It has a looming feel to it, it's craggy, yet intimate. I guess that's the essence of caves, but you captured that essence on film. (Parts of it really shine...) On second view, it's like a big womb made out of big chunks of honey cake! It looks edible! And your pov really emphasizes the "architecture" of the place. A luminous shot, and I look forward to more...

Go to compare with a web translator if you don't understand my english below... lol !!) I like what you did in post work on this photography The first man is in complete shadow (like an Alfred Hitchcock's movie poster) Only a # : Light(white levels)is too hard on the rock faces, as if your flash was too much Any case, it's a nice idea WISH YOU A GREAT AND MARVELOUS NEW YEAR : Wish you'll get realized all your own good wishes and keep in GOOD HEALTH, HAPPINESS, you and your family q:) Amitiès (friend relationship)
