Description
Velib (shortening of velo and liberte, bicycle and freedom in French) is a system of public bicycle rental at will in Paris. This service organized by the Paris township during summer 2007 made since its beginning more than 10,000 bicycles available on 750 places of the French capital. It met with a huge success because 26 million occurrences of rents were numbered, and in less than one year people took 200,000 subscriptions. In France, other towns (Rennes, La Rochelle, Rochefort, Lyon, Villeurbanne, Aix-en-Provence…) offered bicycles for rent to the public. In other European countries, Bruxelles, Wien, Barcelona… did the same. Riding a bicycle in town is a possible alternative to the use of individual cars. All comments welcome. Le succès du Velib a été considérable, car 26 millions de locations ont été réalisées, et 200.000 personnes se sont abonnées en moins d’un an. En France, d’autres communes (Rennes, La Rochelle, Rochefort, Lyon, Villeurbanne, Aix-en-Provence…) ont aussi mis des vélos à la disposition du public. Dans d’autres pays européens, Bruxelles, Wien, Barcelona… ont réalisé des opérations analogues. Le vélo en ville, voilà une des alternatives possibles à l’utilisation de la voiture individuelle.

What a splendid solution on the problem with too many cars in the city. That is if they got good space for the bicycles on the streets. This is a really excellent capture in nice and warm colors. Thanks for sharing :)

Comme quoi un objet banal (mais revisité par le designer intelligent de l'objet en question) peut, l'éclairage et la disposition des éléments aidant, devenir quelque chose de totalement féérique. Bravo l'artiste!
