Description
I would like to dedicate this image to Andrea (durleybeachbum) just to say thank you for being such an inspiration to me and many others on this website. Your images and knowledge are amazing and it's great for me to have you as a friend.
I captured this bloom, about to open, in the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens here in Johannesburg. I have no idea what flower it is, but it is a broad leaved plant. *sheepish grin* What I really like is that part of the plant was in the shade and the bloom in the sunlight - giving the illusion that it is reaching out.
Thank you all for popping in and for your very valued comments and favs on my upload of the little bridge last night!
Take care!
Hugs, Carin xx

Superb shot, Carin! Beautiful colors, great composition!
Awesome capture Carin.
great image!!!! Fantastic photo!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent shot and very beautiful presentation. Looks fantastic!
Wonderful shot, Carin! nicely titled! Almost looks like a member of the Lily family
Super shot. I suspect it is doing exactly what you've said...it is going toward the sunlight. When sunflowers come back into bloom here (months from now) I'll have to find a field full of them to photograph somehow. They wake up in the a.m. facing the sun in the east and turn a full 180 degrees through the day following the sun to the west at sunset. Bill
NICE, very nice. Hope you are aable to go back when it has opened up.
Absolutely beautiful. Colors are breathtaking. Thanks.
precious!!
superb
Lovely capture, flower and dedication to Andrea. Excellent. Great and apt title.
Beautiful and delicate. I have no idea what plant it is, but I suspect it at least looks like lily of some type. I love the delicate pink. ;o)

B E A U T I F U L ;-)
wonderful shot
Beautiful flower and interesting lighting. Nice work!
exquisite ! Beautiful as always Carin!
Remarkable POV employed to define this esoteric and colorful species of flora, Carin! This reminds me so much of the business end of a spear, only prettier and not so menacing. And a fitting dedication to our Andrea, the maven of floral and insect Latin terminology.
Very very nice work Carin. This one is very special and it looks like some kind of Lily
Such a wonderful color, and the light is gorgeous! Beautiful photograph.
Very beautiful! It's hard to remember that there will be flowers again soon...
