Description
A couple weeks ago, the second day of the big snow, my friend Martin gave me a ride so I didn't have to drive around in the white stuff. (The road you see was obviously clear ... it's one of the major thoroughfares in this area.) We came up over the crest of a hill, and this is what I saw.
I got one shot, hand-held, zoom, in a moving vehicle through a fairly dirty window. Imagine my surprise when I got home and found THIS!!
What you need to know about this area, and about our mountains, is that they move around a lot. I swear. Some days they're really close, and some days they're really far away. I'm sure it has something to do with the amount of moisture in the atmosphere or something.
In any event, they don't usually look like they're looming over us like this! The mountains are generally a LOT farther away. :)
..........
We're still working on my photo processing software issues, and I've got Photoshop 7 installed. That should tide me over until the CS3 problem is resolved! Whoo-hoo!

Lovely composition:)
What a view, how amazing to come up over a hill and see THIS--WOW!!
Looks like the foothills are covered and maybe that's what makes it look closer? Cool shot!!!

Breathtaking view! I imagine the rush of excitement at such a sight as you jump to squeeze the shutter lol.
A beautiful capture Tara.
It has to be the light (early?) and the windshield glass (dirty) that caused these mountains to shift closer, don't you think? What other variables come into play? I know...rain, mist, fog, snow... Great shot. You definitely captured the moment and that's a perishable quality in a photo. Bill
beautiful view
Great Scott! (Maybe there's a lassie called Faith who pushes them from behind and then scutters them away again.) An extrordinary pic, you did so well throught the window!

FANTASTIC CAPTURE!
can you imagine going down that street on solid ice.?really an outstanding scene
Wow that really does look close. Maybe it's all that whiteness.
Gosh, I just installed PS7 yesterday and now I'm looking for my book on what to do with THAT! Its so different from my PS6. great shot and a beautiful place to live. But I don't like the size of that big town. That's busier than what I see downtown here!
