Description
A few days ago I posted a low light shot of a ceramic box that had belonged to my great-grandmother. It's full of safety pins, and Ronnie asked me to take a picture of the pins.
So here you go, my dear! :) A few of the things that were rattling around in the bottom of that pin box. Turns out there's more than just safety pins in there!
This is another low light shot (it's only fitting, since Ronnie is the one who taught me how to do the light setup) although the light level is a bit higher than some of the others I've done. I seem to get a slightly different result every time!

Great shot and use of the low lighting. did you use an amber filter on the lights?
And very nicely arranged also....gotta try this...nice work as always..
The gold tone realy match a theme. Like a crop a lot. Looks like pin boxes need to hold more then just pins, mine got keys too.
Oh, I love this. I love seeing all the little things that end up in boxes or drawers or baskets. I especially love the little clip, I used those a LOT back in the day. And I love the old hairpin and the hatpin, am I going overboard here? This is just a really, really great shot, and yeah, I love it!!!!
I adore these low light shots, it makes the shot look so cosy. You are a real cosy girl, I think…Smile.
Beautiful shot here and excellent lighting..I am still working on my lighting it is a hard thing t accomplish but you did a great job...Well done...Jen
Great composition:)I know where to come for safety pins
very interesting still life!
I have been looking for those keys.
Alots of good stuff there. :))) Excellent shot in lowlight. I like it :)
We've all got one of those boxes, or two or ten! Those safety pins with the attachment for hanging something are very curious, not seen those before! A really great shot.
We used to have pin box mush the same as yours Tara, full of all sorts of little things, as well as the pins, buttons and odd keys just like these. Hat pins and broken chains. As Andrea puts it we all have one, or two, or ten, I tend to use old OXO tins and tobacco tins as well. Excellent capture my dear, such a warm glowing light that gives a golden tinge to the items. Bravo!!!!! You learned your lesson well.
Fine work!
Great low light work Tara... You are now good enough for Ronnie to pass the torch on - so you can teach me... LOL.. He will love it! :)
ive been in andreas house ... believe me she speaks the truth ...
very interesting collection ..lovely light !
Yup, that looks like what's always been in pin boxes I've had...except a lot neater than mine ever were! I love how the hatpin pearl is glowing...beautiful shot!
OH! Tara what a great idea, and thanks for the dedi, you know this shot started to invoke so many childhhod memories for me, especially the hair slide, we used to fire these at targets with a rubber band across forefinger and thumb :)...The brighter lighting has made a surreal feel to this, well done!
C'est vraiment génial!
Inspiring...I've got an entire drawer that I use like you use the little box :-) Have to see what I can do...I'm running out of postable pics. Bill
Good light, great shot... checked the keys too, none of 'em is from my p.o. box! :)
Gosh, you brought back the memory of those safety pin rings! They were a must in every household when I was younger. We had several all jammed with pins...safety pins were as necessary as toothpaste or a darning bulb. :-) Very much the same as what my mother kept in hers and not even close to what is hidding in mine. (and I'll never disclose what is in mine...LOL)
An interesting snapshot into your grannies utility box !
Interesting image! :)
this is cool, Tara May and what fun too wonderful work warm hug and love, Linda Kaye
beautiful ! great idea !
Looks great! Nice work!
I loved the pin box and I love this too.
A nice still life shot of this interesting collection of objects.
Great light and focus Tara! When we were kids, mum had a little box with all this sort of stuff in and a button box too. Many a time she would sew a button on some clothing of mine and you could guarantee that it wouldn't match the rest of the buttons lol!
