Description
This Soviet Memorial was erected in 1945 in honor of the Soviet Soldiers that gave their lives in World War II. It is located about 400m west of the Brandenburger Tor on the Strasse des 17. Juni in Tiergarten, Berlin. Before the Wall came down this was West Berlin. At right is a T-34 Soviet tank and in front of the Memorial, facing the camera, is my cousin Gundi freezing. We had come to Berlin to meet my brother to see my mother who turned 91.
This picture was taken on 4 January 2006.

stunning denkmal. Great russian architecture
It is very nice to see this. Thank you for sharing - very good capture.
wow.. your mother became 91.. WOW wonderful age.. i hope she is still with you great never knew there was a sovjet monument in West Berlin that must have been somewhat controversial
I am surprised at how good it looks. Many times monuments are just left to decay. Cool shot - cold weather.
