Description
Well - this is my first image from our visit to the Monte Casino Bird Conservatory close to where we live. It is actually so hilarious how we both tried to capture several of these beauties, but every time it was just tail feathers, or half a bird or something else unuseable on screen!!! They were just so skittish and also much more interested in the female pheasants!!! We were on our last stretch of the path when this guy ran across the walkway infront of me. Luckily I had the camera ready and just shot... this is the result...
Thanks for clicking in! Thank you also for your valued comments and fav's on my previous image!

Excellent image!
What a stunning bird, the colouring is fabulous, a really lovely capture Carin. Full view is even more detailed.
Absolutely beautiful bird!! Nice apture!! :)
Waw! A beauty, It doesn't look real. Amazing capture.
The Golden Pheasant is one of my favourites Carin, the plumage of this bird is fantastic, well I think so at any rate. Love the shadow on this as well, it belies the shape of the bird but I still like it. Catching it mid stride gives it a slightly comical look, but then you said it was an hilarious time you had there. Excellent capture, superb detail in the plumage. Bravo!!!!!
A beauty! Gorgeous capture!!
Wonderful Capture! You are very lucky to have managed to get it mid jump! Clearly these little feathery buggers don't wanne lock in time... It's a pity from such a gorgeous bird. Good work! X Ray
What a beauty--wow!!
soooo wonderful colored bird!!!! Very fantastic photo!!!
This is a wonderful capture, Carin!
cool bird. nice capture!
Beautiful Bird,Wonderful photo.
I can certainly see where his name comes from! You got this Dapper Dan mid-step. Good snapshot...and I mean that as a compliment. Bill
This is fantastic! Birds can be so incredibly extravagant and this little guy is no exception. You captured the colors brilliantly, and I like the fact that he was caught mid-stride...the one-legged pose is quite dramatic, as dramatic as his extreme formal wear!
what a splendid picture! such grace in a pose! wonderful!
Such smart birds!
Such wonderful array of colors and I love how you captured him in highstep.
Teh golden pheasant is a beautiful bird, smaller than the normal field pheasant as I recall but more stocky. This is a great shot.
Very beautiful bird! Nice shot!
EXCELLENT CAPTURE & BEAUTIFUL COLORS :)
Excellent result!
Excellent image, what a beautiful bird.
amazing colours, a nice crisp capture!
Great way to start that flood you promised us Carin, excellent capture my friend!
what a pretty bird !!! sounds like you guys had a ball!! :)
Wow, you couldn't have caught him better. Super capture. I laughed about the tail feathers as that is usually what happens to me too.
oh my what a pretty bird .. wonderful capture!
Marvelous golden colors emanate from the royal avian as it stands frozen, projecting a dark shadow on the surface below, in this candid shot, Carin. No doubt, despite the focusing difficulties, it must be pleasant to capture pheasants as they strut about, seeking the feathered ladies.
What a cool looking bird! Great image!
Superb capture of a beautiful bird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
