Nikon 7900 pocket camera, hand-held image. As I mentioned in the comments I posted with yesterdays image, this is a species of Butterfly that seems to be attracted to people. I was watching a Ground wasp drag a paralyzed caterpillar to just the right spot where it would dig a hole, insert the caterpillar, lay an egg on it, cover the hole and go looking for the next caterpillar; when I felt something on my head. I slid my hand up and felt something move onto it. To my surprise, I found this Tawny Emperor Butterfly resting on the back of my hand. Of course I was delighted and managed to get a couple of shots similar to this one. After a few minutes, the Butterfly flew off but soon returned and landed on my leg. After a bit it once again flew off and again returned. This time to a perch within reach of me. The photo I posted yesterday was taken then. I must admit, I lost track of the Ground wasp, lol. I think this species is drawn to sweat for the mineral content it contains but I am not positive about this. I do know this is the 2nd time a Tawny Emperor has decided to interact with me. Thanks to those who take the time to comment. Lee
