Description
Nikon 7900 pocket camera, hand-held image.
Bees are not a common subject of mine. They almost always have their faces in a bloom and they seldom stay in one spot long enough for me to get them in focus.
This was taken on a rather cool day and this one was not actively foraging.
I liked the colors of the foliage as much or more than the Bee, lol.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

It's like the bee has a winter coat, yes the leaf is as interesting as the bee. The whole composition works for me.
a very hairy bee! Wondeful photo!!!
great capture...
Super composition.
Agree about the foliage Lee, wonderful fall colours here, I know what you mean about bees, tried only yesterday to capture a bumble bee on a bloom, but he was not having any of it, and took off the second I put the lense near it:)
Blending well, Excellent Lee.
Super capture!!
It certainly looks like he is ready for winter with that huge hairy mantle he is wearing. Excellent detail on the bee Lee, and I have to agree about the colours, they are as much of an interest as the bee itself. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
Yup, cooler weather does slow them down. :-) This had a lot of good detail in it and although he isn't laden with pollen,, he looks a bit dusty. :-)
Nice macro of this fuzzy bee... and yes, the foliage is beautiful :)
great details on the bee and I agree the leaf is beautiful
Yes, the surroundings are a nice compliment to the bee. Great colors in this one.
B3autiful. I like the details down to the fuzzy body. Bunny
