Description
We had this candle lit while having a barbeque the night before this image was taken. We just left the candle where it was with the intention of using it again the following evening.
The next day we went for a drive and as we arrived back at our chalet, there were baboons everywhere on the roof and on the deck. They ran away as we approached. Luckily we had all the windows closed because they can cause havoc!
This candle however were not as lucky as the towel and did not survive. They ate the whole thing!!! We had a good giggle about it... and were forced to have a romantic night without a candle... lol!!
Thank you for stopping by and for any comments on this image as well as my previous upload.

Very nice. Makes for a beautiful composition!
very wonderful photo!
I remember chewing candle wax as a kid, we were not allowed chewing gum so we used to bite a bit of wax off the candle, after a while it softens up and is much like the gum was then. Lol. I wonder if the babboons will be back for some more. Excellent capture Carin, a funny story and thankfully not an expensive one, if they had got into the chalet it could have been very expensive I imagine. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
I have never thought about having Baboons as neighbors but they probably would be better than drug addicts for sure.I love the countryside
wondrous!
very wonderful photo!
lol funny story .. I cant imagine baboons running of with my towelsince I can only see them in a zoo hehe .. amazing ! very pretty compostion too !
great shot...
Lovely image and background. Some creature will have a stomach ache after eating that!
my boys used to chew wax crayons when they were younger which amounts to the same thing :o)..you dont a candle to be romantic anyway !.excellent capture carin mick
super image Carin!
I really like this! Something so simple. The Baboon story really caps it off. Great job. Bill
Well, that's something I don't see much around here...baboons on my deck railing...or baboons anywhere around here for that matter. LOL But then, I do see skunk, coyotes, bobcat, raccoon, the occassional cougar and, up north a bit, bears seem to spend a lot of time inside people's homes. Love the story! Love the shot.
Excellent shot,my friend,a beautiful work
Wonderful shot!
Super photo.
Excellent shot, love the way the wax has run and built up like that.
unusual and wonderful pic!! i like your explanation.Gives a different view on this beauty! RS
LOL, too bad about that forced, dark, romantic night--great shot no matter what!!
well, I suppose a good dose of parrafin wax like that will have made a couple of them nice and regular :)
Grand image Carin! Too funny about the baboons, you painted a very amusing picture with that story:-)Hugs!
They ATE the CANDLE???? :-| Oh goodness... LOL never a dull moment in SA eh??? LOL
And our worst pests are squirrels and racoons...I think baboons would be a little harder to deal with! It's a beautiful capture, though, the wax drippings are very graceful on the railing, and the hills behind are a wonderful backdrop.
What a lovely image! It stands on its own, even without your wonderful story! Two lovers together in the evening, enjoying the night coming on ... they stand, turn to each other, smile ... one of them blows out the candle on the way in ... fade to black ... It's all right there in your photograph. Beautiful.
OOPS from what I understand you can't leave anything out there, Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great shot!!!!
Very nicely composed, good DOF
