Nikon 7900 pocket camera, hand-held image.
These are not the best images I have posted but the little critter (1/8 inch, 3mm long) was rather interesting. I think it is a young Assassin Bug, but I am not positive about that. It is certainly is 'spiky'.
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

Gorgeous !
Outstanding captures of this unusual bug. I'd love to know more about why he developed the spikes as he has...nature has a way of creating bugs to fit their situations.
Very cool bug... Spikey Mikey :)
What a tiny monster ! LOL !
Nice collage...
Nice little guy. I agree with you - think it´s an Assassin Bug, too.
It's very cute, and extremely unappetising!
Great macro and creature..
How you find these is amazing enough , then to be able to photograph them is a wonderful talent. Well done!
Awesome shot's! Well done.
Super macro.
I am pleased again and again to see your photos from the unusual insects to! And again proof for your good eye for the little things! Very beautiful photos!!!!!
Very cool critters!
Could be an Assassin. Very cool whatever it is. I know things that small are hard to get good shots of. I haven't seen one of these before. Thanks for sharing!
now this one is really spiky...fine shots!
That is small Lee, and a very unusual little bug I think, as you say, not the sharpest of your pics, but well worth the upload, can't expect a lot for one so tiny. I have never seen anything like it, I would have thought the spikes were to stop him being swallowed but he's that small he wouldn't touch the sides. Excellent work, thanks for sharing. Bravo!!!!!
Very cool...thanks for sharing!
Great shots of this little creature, wicked looking! Very nice presentation!
What an amazing little creature! Excellent captures. Bunny
What a cool and unusual bug and even more amazing when seeing your dimensions! That's very close for a coolpix! Well done!
I actually think these are both great, especially the second one for the bug's alert posture and the effect of the DOF on the blade of grass. Very good work.
Great shots! Excellent offensive and defensive weapons have been developed by this small critter.
