Nikon 7900 pocket camera, hand-held image.
Here is a top view of one of my favorite subjects. It is a Robberfly. I am not sue if the exact species but it is one of the medium sized ones. I have some approaching 2 inches (50mm) in length, and some less than 1/4 inch (8mm).
Thanks to those who take the time to comment.

Great shot of a great hunter. Have a nice weekend, Lee.
Now I've got to know about these I think they are one of my favourites too. This shows those hairy legs so well! He really is very dapper!
Nice capture...
How it looks like a pin !
Great macro and creature..
Super! I have to say I was impressed at the size of the large one I found flying about noisily on my walk this summer. Well done.

The definition on the head area is really fabulous. Excellent and often not seen view too!
I agree with PJ, great clarity and detail Lee, looks like he's posing for you, that back end looks pretty sharp I must say. I don't think I have seen that on a fly before, not as long as that anyhow. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

It looks like it's got a little stinger. Excellent capture. Bunny
