Gorgeous scene!
An excellent place for an encampment for men on foot. With horses or cannon one would have to test the soil for bearing strength. So, perhaps a jousting ground not yet a torn earth of heavy bombardment. And so peaceful, idyllic yet not cultivated or pastured. Uncontested as to refuge it sits serene for the poet and dreamer.
