Description

he was outside the coffee shop playing a little before he went inside to jam. someone wonder if the photos I take is at the Cafe Des Amis? No they not; i take most at the coffee shop about one block from Cafe Des Amis. This is cajun at the coffee shop. Cafe Des Amis plays zypeco music. It diff for it is faster and a diff sound too. Both is around here in other words both types of music is from this area. Cafe Des Amis you pay $5 to get in but if you eat breafast on saturday morning when they play from 8 to 10 in the morning I think the $5 you pay to get in will be taken off your bill for the food. it the only place in the country like this. I heard it on the radio as they was talking to a govermant man. I know I been away from this site for I been busy to get things done so i can stay good in the storm. i at a brick house now. i live in a trailer and that not a safe place they tell me. The last big storm i left my trailer and went to a house where the lights went out I went back to my trailer after the storm and saw the lights never went out lol. i BE OK. IF YOU WISH TO SEE THE WEATHER then type in my area code which is 70317 and you will see it just going to be 80 mph here. had the first rain here and a big rainbow was with it. I got the photo but my photoshop is still not working . I been working on my computor too lol I thing of setting it out side and take photos of it flying away in the storm. Anyway I ok now and thanks for all. may not be able to upload for awhile I see. lights may go out or the internet goes out. Have a good day and make the most out of it jock

Nice capture of this musician! Blessings for you and your town during this storm. We have been watching all of this closely on the news. My sister and mother are in Texas, and they are expecting to catch a bit of Gustav, but hope not much.

Jock, with Hurricane Gustav heading your way, I thought you were in your car heading out of Louisiana. It's the mother of all storms! Anyway, terrific clarity and POV in this great composition of the guy with the squeeze box! Remember to check out my alligator collage for today.

That is a great shot, wonderful color and clarity, wish there was sound with it. Will be thinking about you, ...you stay safe, Jock, and come back as soon as you are able to. (lol about watching your computer blow away, I think we have all felt that way at least once.)

Stay safe my friend, please for all of us and of course you... You capture in your pictures and commentary a part of life that few will ever get to see or know.. Like this picture here. Without your words accompanying it, it would be just a man with a squeezebox, but your words bring him to life for us. stay safe

Great shot, Jock. Nice new avatar too. Those squeeze boxes remind me of the old mahogany plate cameras in my museum - some of those have red bellows too.

Music is magic, really... Super catch. Find a good shelter away from high wind and low-lying ground and you'll be fine. Take care!

I've been watching and I wasn't too worried about the storm, although, New Orleans might get more water surge than it needs. Glad to hear you at least got out of the trailer. Seems they always seem to be the first to go. Love this shot. I went to our Gold Rush Days today and watched a street trio play and thought about you. They were singing Ghost Riders In the Sky. :-)
