Description
Put a couple of old pilots together and the stories get another coat of polish each time they are retold. Did I ever tell you about...
Please open this up for the full effect offered by this trusty old bird :-)
Behind the talking men is a completely restored Douglas DC-3 built in 1941 in California. It was delivered to Howard Hughes for his Trans World Airlines (TWA) that same year.
The markings on this old bird (NC1945) are the way they actually were during its' service in the WWII years.
This plane's home is right here in Kansas City in the Airline History Museum at the downtown airport. It shares hangar space with a completely restored Lockheed Constellation and a Martin 404 among other "good ole airline stuff".
Any and all comments welcome. Thanks for taking a look.
Bill

Fine plane. Great shot. And I expect you are spot on the pilots' conversations.
I like this candid shot. Pilots can put fishermen to shame with stories:)
Nice capture. Would have been nice to see the tail markings if any. Any chance of future photos of the connie and the martin? Thanks for sharing.
