Description
My hope for my August 2008 airshow photos is that even my non-aviator friends will find these images colorful, interesting and engaging.
For my aviator friends, I think I know how you will feel about them.
Please open this to full-size. You'll see the pilot.
Here we have an F-16 Fighting Falcon conducting an engine check prior to a flight demonstration. Note all the heat and engine exhaust to the rear of the airplane. The colorful paint job indicates that this is the number four plane in the six plane US Air Force Thunderbird demonstration team. This team was the featured attraction of the Kansas City airshow for 2008.
I will selectively post more from this colorful set of photos. Please come back and enjoy a few more of the sights with me. Thanks. Bill

NICE........
A Beautiful sight!
Always a thrill to see these fighter planes.
"ENOUGH NOISE FOR YA, VERNE??" Great story and pic, Bill, thanks! I do enjoy these contri's of yours.
Wonderful photo
A very fine shot, Bill. Thank you for sharing. Have the finest day. Hugs. Di. xx
Excellent work, Sir. But, where are the pictures of the Navy Birds? Skipper, Old Broke Wing Navy Jock.
love the crisp plane with the ethereal background. There is something magic and unreal about an airshow, and you've got the feel here:)
A fine shot. Very good. Well done, Rob
Definitely colorful and intimidating from this low POV.
I think your mission is a success. Very engaging photo.
Perfect compo as everybody ready waiting for a command to start a show.
Sometime i say, In Switzerland and in Europe we have good airshow, but the two time i was at Oceana and Miramar airshow, it was like a dream for me :) Beautiful Thunderbird pic
I guess I fall into the category of "it's a guy thing". Even though metal birds don't grab me as much as feathered birds, I commend you highly on this series and the shots that you have gotten of these incredibly fast birds in flight and on the ground. Nice series, Bill, and well done images!
I hope that guy ducked just in time lol Great photo!
I love being able to see the people with the plane to get a sense of scale. The guy standing behind the wing is a bit of an optical illusion because he SORT OF looks like hes in front of the wing, so his scale makes the plane look even bigger.
Wow! Excellent capture. It reminds me of watching the Air Force Thunderbirds show in Merced many years ago. Our kids were little, and they loved it.
Great capture Bill. Luke has its 'open house' this upcoming weekend and I hope I get some good shots of aircraft. Have no idea yet what will be there, but the Thunderbirds will be there. I am hoping for a f-22, or a B-2 fly by, or maybe a F-35?
