Just amazing
One of the coolest looking flies I've seen!
Well, I think your theme of the week could be "flies", showing the incredible diversity of this insects family ?
You really remain a model for me, Lee : your macros are outstanding, always with great explanation ! I can't remember seeing this species around here... Take care, my friend ! :~)
Great capture, my friend.
Theme, theme, theme, hmmm, I know, it's "Whats for Lunch" :)
I give in! unless it's that they all have only 2 proper wings? Anyhow, this is of course another super shot, and I really like the wing markings!
...ein ganz hervorragendes Foto von dieser aussergewöhnlichen Fliege! Bravo!!
IMPRESSIVE MACRO WORK...
Wow, wonderful shot!
Oh boy, it gives me the creeps... Killer shot, congratulations.
OK... not "where to maggots come from..." so is it bullies of the fly world? Good heavens... you really have an extensive library of flies and fly mimics going on. Great shot once more, Lee.
What exellent wings on this guy! well done...
Sharp shot, much different than my capture. Well done!
What amazing designs there are on the wings. Splendid capture. Bunny Flybys... since they aren't at night, can't be fly by night. ;o)
First glance it almost seems as if life has run him ragged or someone shot him full of shotgun pellets (minitures of course). Great shot, incredible clarity.
Is it that they all belong to the order Diptera? An excellent macro Lee, fantastic clarity and detail especially in the wing showing the markings that give it its name. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
Great macro!
I missed this one in my time away. Awesome looking fly. Built for speed it looks like the way the head connects to the thorax. And those Camouflaged wings are too cool! Great shot.
