I've always wanted to do an updated version of my "Some Enchanted Evening" that I did originally over 2 years ago now. I also thought it would be a good opportunity to test my Mane N' Tail Pack which is very close to completion now. Glad I did some testing as I did find a few things I want to tweak! I spent all day Sunday working on the highly detailed and illustrated Tutorial I will be including in the Pack. (I *HATE* writing:) So I hope you enjoy. I had a lot of fun working on this, as well it was immensely helpful in my effort to make my first Product the best I can possibly make it. Check out the larger view to see the detail in the mane and tail. Production notes: Daz Mil Horse posed, morphed and rendered in Poser 7 (I will bore you all some more and say again how much I just love P7! SOOOOO much better than P5.) I tried an experiment on the tex map for the unicorn to try to get a silvery sheen to his coat and it came out far better than I hoped it might. (Anyone want to guess what I did?:) The background is made of all Daz products- Ruins of Alecto, Woodland Realms, and the vines I took from LB's Beanstalk. (An interesting aside- I also used the Ruins of Alecto in my original, rendered in P5, but P7 did a so much more lovely job of rendering it in much finer detail than P5. That was also a nice surprise!) The mane and tail were done in Photoshop CS and are 95% from my Mane N Tail Pack. (The one bit of forelock over the unicorn's eye is new)

Superb unicorn! Very nice texture on the coat too so if you have any tips you can add that to your turorial also :) I always found the coat texture of the millenium horse lacking so I wasn't encouraged to do many horses myself, especially since I didn't quite know how to use brushes or hair layers at the time to do the mane and tail. I've always wanted to do a unicorn also, so I'll add that to my wishlist of future projects, now that I have more experience and maybe give a try to your new pack :)

Oh please, no suspense. How'd you get that silver sheen, it's almost like mother of pearl. I can't wait for your pack to come out too.

You did some really outstanding work on this - the detail in the mane and tail are awesome. And so is the silvery blue sheen on the coat. Amazing stuff. I'm really looking forward to your pack and tut.CC
