Aranée searched the rest of the afternoon and early evening for the passage to the mountain fortress and finally gave up in frustration well after dark. Exhausted, she ate uncooked rations from her pack that settled in the pit of her stomach like a lump of cold lard. Discouraged and tired, she hadn't even bothered to study The Book.
For as long as she could remember, she had had fleeting thoughts of her mother and father, especially at night in her dreams. But something about the old ruins had unleashed an intense flood of vivid memories of them - and an overwhelming sense of danger. The warm cheery visions she had of them were somehow wrapped in cold, evil unknowns. Drenched with perspiration, she sat up out of a deep sleep calling a warning to them, hot tears stinging her eyes.
She knew the fortress held the clues to her past - and to the fate of her parents. She had an unexplained urgency to remember their faces and names - and anything else she could recall about them. For a reason she could not fathom, she knew she had to keep them alive in her memory - that justice somehow demanded it.

Wonderful scene Larry, I like the way you have the ghosts displayed and the main character has a perfect expression on her face for this moment.
Beautifully detailed Poser. Unlike many Posers I've seen, the figures in this one actually have and convey emotions with their faces!
Nice emotional work, Larry. Beautiful composition and story. Nice to se you post a little again :)+5
Beautiful scene and wonderful story!
Wonderful story and excellent image.
Great story and image. Good job on the tears and dream bubble.
As others say, the paleness of the dream parents contrasts well with Aranee. BUT the Book, Girl. Open the Book!
Oh yes Larry, it's awesome work my friend...WOW
The story gets more intriguing, pulling the reader in. And the picture is very well done - the tears are a nicely done. I'm going to have to Fav you so that I can follow the story!
Ah, yes, The Book is part of the answer, but the poor girl can't read the vast majority of it. It is written in Elvish, and even though she is an Elf she can't read it - yet. Of course, all of this will make sense... later... (wink!)
Once again, a very strong installment to a good series. Please keep them coming!
Interesting story! I wonder how it's continue!
That's a well done bit of work to get the parents floating like that. Excellent to see someone using Poser/Daz as a storytelling medium on Renderosity. It inspires me.
wonderful story and scene
Wonderful fantasy, love the dream effect too!
Very interesting.
Excellent scenes
Super story and illustration ... well done.
What a cool scene! Glad you pointed me in the right directon. I like how the colors contrast, and how you've done her expression with the tears running. I love to see what other people do in DAZstudio, since most seem to favor Poser. (Still trying to figure Poser out. groan)
Nice emotion work and story too
Really nicely done! Nice work!
Excellent larry have to leave it there but in the immortal words of big arnie I,ll be back!!
Marvelous pose and atmosphere, great one my friend!
Nice work... I've just lighted on your story and am following it through with interest.
Another intriguing chapter in the story. It hints at so much and reveals so little. You really are a master at that! Love all the details you have inserted here, like her father writing in the very book that she now holds, her pose with the dagger lying on top of the book. They really add to the believability of the character and image. And those ghostly images in her dream are just downright creepy! Nicely done!
Very nice work!
