Description
Yesterday this was two rounded forms on stalks, more yellow. Today, all is different. Tomorrow, this may be gone.
Full size is the best view.
As I got down on the earth to shoot the picture, my left hand felt many tickles. I looked and at least 100 ants were there at any slice of time. My hand was in the path and they just crossed to the other side. That was strange. No biters in this bunch of red ants. I likely have learned and will not need to repeat the ant thing. : )
I haven't posted a photo in a while and simply have to do something..glad the mushroom came along.

You sure are the lucky one! Red ants will make me dance almost as much as bees and wasps will! We are lucky here and the migration of the fire ant has not reached us yet. Funny people in this state...they seem to think they can halt the steady march across our boarder and keep them out. :-) Boy, to I know better! I love these little cabanna umbrellas. Now where are the margaritas?
Gorgeous shroomshot! I've never seen any like this, they look magical, like the Alice in Wonderland type - "one side makes you larger and the other makes you small"...

Very nice image and great capture. It has not been a good year for mushrooms where I live. I have seen very few of them. Oh well, maybe things will improve this Fall. At least you shared this one, lol. Thanks, Lee

That is such a simple and yet beautiful shot, Tom. The colors are nicely muted and the texture on the mushrooms are allow our eyes to flow down. I like it!

I live in Oregon and see lots of mushrooms but these are different, nicely done.
