Description
Well this chap was in the garden this afternoon and i managed to pull off a few shots of him.
ive no idea what he is but he could be a nomad bee or a field digger wasp according to my book.
if you know what he is let me know.
hope you all have a good weekend,

Breathtakingly detailed macro! The colors are wonderful too.
An outstanding macro Clint and I think it is a wasp, Superb photography, hugs Jane xx
I dont have my bug book here at work but i can look when i get home. awesome macro!
superb
Super!
Leeco could probably tell right off but my guess is its a Yellow Jacket. The coloration differences are subtle on a couple of these black and yellows so I did the best I could to match up this pattern with those shown on Whatsthatbug.com This is a great sight for bud IDs. Wonderful macro, btw.
I believe it's a wasp. Try here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Wasp_colony.jpg Lovely macro! Love how you did the background, too.
