Another Day At Work
A few weeks ago I told a little story about a day at work at the Post Office. Here's another one.
This was a Saturday morning, I was delivering the mail again. I had an Express mail letter that had to go out first thing, (they get special treatment), my vehicle was loaded, I was ready to go, and off I went.
The address was a place with several little houses, all tucked in and around each other. I never liked going to the back houses; seemed like there were always dogs hiding out just out of sight. I'd been bitten a couple of times, and believe me, you get a lot more careful once that's happened,
I made my way carefully down the sidewalk to the house where the mail needed to go. It wasn't too early, maybe 9:30, but things were quiet; people were sleeping in, taking it easy. I knocked on the door, waited, knocked again. No response, so I filled out the form, and left it in the mailbox. I was just getting back in the mail truck, when I heard someone calling out to me. I turned around and looked back at the sidewalk and here was this young man, this VERY cute young man, maybe 21 or 22, running towards me, saying, "Oh please don't go, I've been waiting for that~~I was asleep and just heard you knock. I really, really need this mail!". Nothing unusual about that, EXCEPT he was stark naked!!!! He got all the way to the truck and he was still trying to get his mail, trying to tell me not to leave. I finally was able to get a word in and said, "You might just want to go and put some clothes on!!" He looked down at himself and said. "OMG, oh sh--, oh fu..", and took off running back to his house. I just waited patiently and he came out the door a couple of minutes later wearing a pair of shorts. He walked very sheepishly back to me and the first thing he said was, "I am so sorry, I was sound asleep, your knock finally woke me up and I just jumped out of bed and, well, um,, and well, forgot, and, um , well." He finally got himself together enough to sign for this very important piece of mail and walked back to his house.
It was a great way to start MY day----sometimes work can be a LOT of fun!!!!

very clever
hahah that is funny. love the story
Ah yes, the life of a postal employee. Another interesting anecdote from the life of our Marilyn. In the buffo! Sleepy or not, you've got to be a real loon not to know you have no clothes on, no matter the circumstances! The guy was a streaker wannabe or a refugee from a nudist colony! Incidentally, what was the first thing you noticed on the guy when you first saw him? ;-)
Clearly, I'm in the wrong line of work. Don't get me wrong ... my office is chock full of cuties ... but they ALWAYS come to work with their clothes on!
I always seem to end up working with women. And none of them are that nice to look at (neither am I, for that matter!) At any rate, I have always had a sneaking suspicion I was in the wrong line of work!
delightful!
Lol that is a funny story :)
lol that must of been some sight ,perks of the job :o)..excellent story marilyn mick
hilarious! keep 'em coming - i bet you have a book's worth of anecdotes!
I don't know why I missed this one Marilyn, you and I have lots in common when I think about it, my stories are still in my head, but yes I have had some unusual things similar to this but with women. I used to work for Parcel Force when I was a lot younger. Excellent work, a very enjoyable read. Bravo!!!!!
LMAO, I need a job in the postal service! Yes, a brilliant way to start a day, with a great laugh, thanks for sharing.
