Description
Just introduced myself to an excellent digital camera...a Nikon S52, 9 mega-pixel. Yes, I was still using the older 35mm SLR's, previously.
Since this is one of my first captures, I thought I would share it with you.
Why did I call it my beautiful terrorist you ask? Well, it is a Trumpet Vine (Campsis radicans) which is trained over the gated archway arbor at the front entrance to my yard.
After only acquiring the plants 6 years ago, it is spreading throughout my front yard, poking thru, all over the lawn. Found out recently that it runs underground much like running bamboo does. Oh well, the mower will take care of that problem, I suppose....lol
This year it is filled with hundreds of blooms and really, I'm thrilled at the colorful display it creates.
I realize I could have centered the cluster of blooms a bit better.
Enjoy and thanks for viewing and commenting.

Excellent capture and detail, nicely done....
Gorgeous blooms, wish I had those in my garden!!
You'll soson get used to the digital Nikon, Keith. I have one too but was using Nikon 35mm SLRs for years a swell. Finally succumbed! Good shot (yes a bit clipped at the bottom- agreed) But powerful colours nonetheless and a moment in time captured. And thanks for the description! Dave
they are a lovely color... congrats on that new camera.. have fun with it!
Wonderful shot and beautiful blossoms!
A really intriguing title and a wonderfully coloured plant. There will be no stopping you now you've given in to the digital camera age, you'll be taking picures like crazy. Tony :-)
Gorgeous capture and details!!!
Hey, I must be dreaming :-) Very glad to know you've turned to digital photography! This is a first-class achievement for this 'wonderful terrorist' of yours, I like the title and your capture very much, Keith! Keep up with the good work :-)
well it may be a terrorist plant / flower ..but its very beautiful... I bet your place is so colourful to see ! great photo Keith ... keep them coming !
Belissima flor, maravilhosa captura meu amigo, aplausos (5)
Love the colors! well done 5*
Nice capture Keith, looks like it would be quite a display!I like the fact you've off-centred the flowers, and the clipping at the bottom lets the image lead your eye out of the scene.Too many images are perfectly centred and composed, and while that may be good for a field guide,it doesn't provide much long-term interest and tension in the scene. The Oriental painting style, where branches or blossoms are off-centred or cropped is a much more visually pleasing approach, and this image echoes this...well done!
Your terrorist look fantastic! A very nice capture my friend! Peace K+Raven
Excelente!
Hi Keith a change is nice a wonderful capture it is thanks for the smile sweet sunshine to you warm hug, Linda
Well, at least it looks good Keith - better than the normal brand of terrorist. Better that our Bind weed variety too, that tries to strangle the whole world.
:) Gr8 shot
got a new toy and have to try it out and you did wonderful
Excellent first capture Keith...looks like a top rate camera...beautiful photo..well done!!!
Beautiful! i can only hope mine will do as well!
THANKS much to everyone who has viewed and commented so far on my photo capture. One important thing I forgot to mention about this plant is when handling the flowers, one can develop a nasty rash...so if you obtain one of these make sure you wear some sort of gloves. Seems not to have ever bothered me like that...then again, I've never been bothered by poison ivy, oak or sumac. Perhaps I'm just fortunate...lol
Congrats on your new camera and an excellent image too! Love the colour!
This is a really great shot!!!! Congrats on your new camera.
I am always attracted to these flowers, one for their beauty and two- the insects love them.I actually have a capture on my post folder.congrats on the new camera and already a superb macro
Beautiful flowers, and a nice shot! I really don't think I'd mind it if we had such beauty running through our yard over here, lol! Nice!
Super shot, Keith. Why do people think good-looking terrorists are less menacing? Enjoy your new camera!
For me, you really captured this's beauty's dangerous side...something about it says "Look but don't touch." Like all the girls in high school used to say to me. Have a blast with your new mechanical eye!
A fantastic capture, Keith! These vines do go crazy, but are just beautiful when in full bloom.
Your flowers are doing real lovely! ~ and hey congrats on your new awesome camera!
Better late (replying) than never. I'm so glad I saved yours, this image is awesome! A fav for sure! Way better than my pic of a trumpet vine. Oh, and BTW I AM SO JEALOUS (!)of your new camera. Just to let you know, I'm on some pretty sturdy meds, so forgive any mistakes I might make. Sure wish this damn thing had spell check! Thanks!
