MOOD SWINGS
And I thought the hot flashes
Were my only symptom.
Welcome to mood swings!
I'm leaving my love.
Next time I see him,
I'm telling him we're through.
This isn't working out.
I don't need the grief.
I miss my man.
If I don't see him
In the next five minutes,
I'm going to have to
Slit my wrists or something.
I am so bored at work
I can hardly stand it.
After 17 years
At the same job,
I really need a change.
What am I thinking?
This is the greatest job
In the whole world!
I'm keeping the job,
But I'm breaking up with the guy.
I think I need a new hobby.
Photography is boring.
I'm tired of taking pictures.
I think I'll quit my job
And keep the guy.
If I hear that song
One more time,
I'm going to rip the radio
Right out of the dashboard.
I think I need a drink.
Maybe I'll have a drink,
Leave the guy,
Keep the job,
Quit photography,
And keep the guy.
I know!
I'll photograph the guy,
Drink at work,
Buy all new CDs,
And get a different radio.
What I really need
Is a nap.
I'm tired all the time.
Do you think it might be
The mood swings?

This is so funny! You can write as well as you take photographs, and sew...and the list goes on. But trust me, I've been there and done that and it does get better with age (just like a good wine). I think eliminating mood swings and hot flashes are the only two benefits of growing old(er).
Now, THAT is one heck of a great poem! At least I thought it was when I first read it, and now I think it's awful. You are so mean to your man! Ah, what the hell, men deserve it! I have a radio you can use. I ripped it out of my car recently and tried to throw it at the skinny 26 year old witch next door when she was sunbathing! Bikinis! HRMPH! On second thoughts, you can't have the radio after all, 'cos I might one day need to rip out the wires to strangle someone with! Seriously, It's WONDERFUL, and absolutely RIGHT-ON! As Billy Clinton once said, I feel your pain. But gimme a break! Between your mood-swing catharsis and the viewer's comments above, this has got to be the most taken aback thing I have ever read. If it's supposed to be funny, then it must fall into the category of black humor. Makes one want to take a bath with a toaster. Pardon me while I curl up into a fetal position -- just a tiny LOL on those last few remarks. Between the peaks and valleys of your angst, let me remind you that things could be much worse, e.g., you could have been a female born in Afghanistan, India, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Ethiopia, etc. Get my drift? In any event, a super image and composition of prose and talent on this one, my dear. You get an E for effort. BTW, photography can be boring with just limited sunlight and subject matter.

IN 2001 I HAD TO HAVE A TOTAL HISTO. SO I GOT HIT WITH ALL OF IT AT ONCE AND BECAUSE I HAD BREAST CANCER THEY COULD GIVE ME ANY OF THE HORMONE THERAPY. MY HUBBY PUT UP A SIGN THAT SAID " MOOD SWING IN PROGRESS" AND HE WASN'T FAR FROM WRONG. '
Love,Love, Love It Tara....I go up and down with my mood swings....Just had a 4 day high with Roger, our vacation was wonderful....Monday I went downhill, that was the day Larry died...I took a test at school and only got 14 out of 30 right....Hope to be going back up....Hugs
