Description
A large transport in its shakedown cruise has entered a dangerous double star commonly referred as UV Ceti. One of these stars is a variable flare star, and can brighten to 4 times its usual output in a within less than a minute, and then drop back to its "normal" level for a few hours, only to flare back up again.
The area is not very friendly to fragile life-forms, but the desire to reach stars beyond this has left them with little choice but to pause, if only briefly, here before moving on.
This cruise was only a few months after Humanity's First Interstellar War had ended, and ships of this high profile still traveled with armed escorts as a precaution.

The ships were modeled in Bryce by me, composited in Photoshop. Background, stars and planet were all done in Photoshop.

I've noticed that the Bryce sci fi artists have really been putting together some great stuff since I've been "away". This is great stuff.
